COUTEAU MUSIC HOUSE is a Montréal based boutique publishing, sync licensing company & label.

Couteau means “knife” in French, a central concept for the identity of the company. Couteau Music House strives to be cutting edge, with focus on cutting through different music “to get to the good stuff.”

The complete project included a company re-brand and logo design, web and social asset design, as well as video pieces for promotional uses. Inspired heavily by psychedelic visuals, artists like Tame Impala and Tyler the Creator, and the musical period of the 70s, the re-brand and accompanying designs came to life.

The logo icon is an “M” and an “H” to represent Music House, stacked in a bold circle. The circle is “cut” in half to create a “C”, to represent the company name Couteau and its defining cutting-edge identity.
