Interactive Instagram Feature

To try something different for this year’s production day shoots with the players, I wanted to create a feature where we had some of our players interact with an instagram post. We would then be able to curate what that post would be as the season took off.

Newly acquired defenceman Nate Schmidt was the perfect candidate for this project due to his outgoing personality and enthusiasm. I built the project in After Effects, and then completed it after he scored his first goal as a Winnipeg Jet.

The post did incredibly well across all of our social platforms, and Nate also collaborated with us to feature the post on his own feeds.

FLIGHT PATH presented by BellMTS

“Flight Path” is a feature series that explores players’ journeys to the Winnipeg Jets.

Directed, Produced and Edited by: Caleb Snider

Associate Producer: Ross Levitan

Flight Path, presented by BellMTS, is a ____ series that showcases the stories of Winnipeg Jets players’ path to the NHL. With interviews from family members, former coaches, teammates and some hometown visits, this series takes a deeper dive into their stories, successes and obstacles that brought them to where they are today.

Flight Path features 12 individual players over 15 episodes ranging from 3.5 - 5 minutes each. All episodes were broadcasted on TSN (The Sports Network) during Winnipeg Jets games, as well as posted on all Winnipeg Jets social media and digital platforms.

11 weeks, 15 episodes, multiple cities, all while navigating COVID protocols, this project was a whirlwind to complete and an awesome opportunity to lead.

Winnipeg Jets Holiday Video

Starring Mark Scheifele, Nikolaj Ehlers, Pierre-Luc Dubois, Andrew Copp, and Kyle Connor.

This year’s concept was inspired by the NBA’s “Jingle Hoops” video from a few years back. I wanted to try and execute the idea, but instead with hockey players and targets.

Due to a small production window, I had to rely heavily on post production to finalize this project using After Effects for compositing and editing. The shoot consisted of three group shots that were properly timed to the song “Jingle Bells”, along with individual shots of each player hitting their assigned targets. This allowed me to have at least 3 sections of the song that was real and authentic, while also having individual shots to overlay to execute the timing of the song in other parts.
